ROB GRIMES - DILLATHON

The homie Rob Grimes got a new mix cd coming out alongside Dj Ease. Peep the story full story on Hip Hop Rukus. Also listen to one of the tracks called "Free World".

From Hip Hop Rukus:
Loyal fans and avid listeners of J Dilla will be pleased to hear the legacy of the recently passed super producer producer living on through Rob Grimes' worldwide release of "Dillathon" on Tuesday, Feb. 26th. -- just weeks after Dilla's birthday.

James Dewitt Yancey, also known as Jay Dee, would have been 34 years old this year. His life was cut short on Feb. 10, 2006 after a tumultuous battle with lupus and an incurable blood disease. Often referred to as "your favorite producer's favorite producer," Dilla became renowned and loved for his beats and creative vision that became critical to the success of such artists as Madlib, Slum Village and Common, among many others.

"The mixtape is a showcase and a tribute," says Rob Grimes. "It's me going in and killing all my favorite Dilla beats."

Also peep Rob's myspace.

J-ZONE PRESENTS: GATORS N' FURS.

J-Zone & Chief Chinchilla present...GATOR$-n-FUR$
February 2008: AINT NO LUV!

The hate parade brought by the hate brigade continues! Now it's Cupid's turn to get a crossbow shot in his ass.

Everybody knows February brings some nice things. NBA All-Star weekend (yo ESPN, license "A Friendly Game Of Basketball" from me again so I can make $ome mo money), me and Chief Chinchilla's birthdays and good deals on winter clothes. But unfortunately it brings the absolute worst holiday of all...Valentines Day.

Chief Chinchilla and I are so disgusted at the thought of such a terrible awful holiday that we're dedicating an hour of our lives to make your Valentines Day as miserable as ours and we're letting the hate marinate for an entire month (February is short so the next show will come a week late in March).

This one day is just a way for Hallmark to make some bank. But oh no no no, not in the land of Gator$-n-Fur$. Actually, we DEMAND all Gator$-N-Fur$ fans boycott Valentines Day this year and celebrate Black Thursday instead...meaning WEAR ALL BLACK on Feb 14. No red & white, absolutely not. If you're in a relationship, we aint hatin. Dinner is cool, but no big ass fuckin teddy bears, no candy, and lord jesus no cute HTML glitter myspace comments. I'm deleting those this year. If you and your partner are over 18 have a myspace page just for yourselves as a couple...you're disqualified. You suck. Remove yourself from the land of Gator$-n-Fur$ immediately, you don't deserve us. If you're caught doing any of the above, you're off the team! Without further ado, from sad to savage, we present some of the best anti-love songs...

DOWNLOAD THE SHOW HERE FOR FREE AND BE FROSTY!

Men lie, women lie...but Gator$-n-Fur$ tell it like it is!!!!!!

Love always,

J-Zone aka Mr. Don't Holla aka $ir Charge

and

Chief Chinchilla aka The Onion Ring Pimp aka PETA's Worst Nightmare

LEROY JENKINS SPRING 08 PREVIEW

The authorities had gone mad. Protests became battles. Activism eventually spawned results. May 2008 marks the 40th anniversary of the Paris student riots of 1968, a movement for sweeping social change. Confrontational yet influential graphics covered the Paris streets while the battle between students and riot police intensified. This activist art and the overall climactic period were key inspirations for LeRoy Jenkins Spring/Summer 2008 collection.

Charismatic jackets, detailed knits, hats, shorts and pants represent the highly climactic time through the use of imagery and color. Designers Ron Upperman and Upendo Taylor created the eclectic color palette during their latest trip to Paris. “As artists, we see LeRoy Jenkins as a form of expression. We design clothing for those who take action and, as we say, grind their own peppers,” said Upperman. Inspired by personal experiences, the original designs from this independent company are constantly revolutionizing the industry.

Joining forces this Spring, LeRoy Jenkins and Royal Elastics continue to evolve their collective efforts with their second footwear collaboration, the LeRoyal 2. This printed canvas and perforated-suede mid drops March 2008 with a limited run of 360 pairs, each embroidered with the individual pair number.

Shout out to Upendo for sending me some gear a few weeks back.
